May 22nd: Bear Mountain Trail Maintaining

On Saturday, May 22nd, M.E.V.O. will be volunteering with the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference (NYNJTC) in helping to rebuild and repair part of the Appalachian Trail at Bear Mountain State Park, in Bear Mountain New York. The volunteer work M.E.V.O. does this Saturday will be part of the biggest hiking trail project in the entire country. Our volunteers will help work on the, “Grandaddy,” of hiking trails, the Appalachian Trail, and the experience is a once in a life time chance.

M.E.V.O. is in serious need of tough, strong, and passionate volunteers for the Bear Mountain volunteer work this Saturday. If you haven’t volunteered in the past, this is your chance to really do something good for the world. We will be carrying bridge railing up the trail, surfacing a portion of the trail, and restoring damaged areas around the trail. If you are interested in volunteering please e-mail mevovolunteers@mahwahevo.org with your Name, Age, and Phone Number or call 201-316-4888.

We will be meeting at 8:00 A.M. at 1024 Ash Drive, Mahwah NJ 07430 and carpooling to Bear Mountain State Park. Please wear clothes you can get dirty and bring lunch and water for the days volunteer work. We will be back in Mahwah around 5:00 P.M. Hope to see you this weekend! Happy Volunteering!
