Sept. 17: Englewood Cliffs Trail Restoration

Due to the recent hurricane, several county parks in the Tri-State area have experienced some serious damage to their hiking trails, preventing millions of people from enjoying the natural environment we all love so much. This weekend, MEVO has decided to put off our originally scheduled trail work in order to aid these devastated park areas.

MEVO will be traveling to the Palisades Interstate Park in Englewood Cliffs, NJ in order to restore some of these trails back to their original state. We will be cleaning up debris, removing trash, and doing anything we can to repair the trails that are in dissaray.

Volunteers will be meeting in the parking lot of the Ramapo Valley County Reservation in Mahwah, NJ at 8:30am, and we will carpool to the event from there (fewer cars = less CO2)! We should be finished up around 2:00pm.

Please be sure to bring lots of water, lunch, and some clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. If you are able to drive to this event, let us know ASAP by calling 201-566-6916 or by emailing us at mevovolunteers@mahwahevo.org with the subject line “MEVO Trail Restoration Driving”!
