After Hurricane Sandy passed through the East Coast last week, Mahwah experienced relative hardship as a large percentage of Mahwah residents lost power and several are still without. In New Jersey, Sandy left thousands of people homeless and many more without power. With the Nor’Easter Athena making its way through New Jersey those without homes and electricity are in dire need of much needed supplies such as non-perishable food items, warm clothing and blankets, cleaning products, pet food, utility equipment like work gloves and other items. We will be meeting at 11 AM at The Mahwah Train Station on Ramapo Ave. We will be splitting up into pairs and going around town to see who will be willing to donate. Make sure to bring warm clothes and if you are able to drive it would be very helpful if you could also bring your car to help transport materials!
