December 29: Hike of the Month

The leaves have fallen and most of the animals have gone into hibernation. This is the perfect time to enjoy the crisp winter air on our hike of the month at the Ramapo Reservation. Hopefully if we’re lucky we’ll get to see snow on the ground, but either way this hike is a great way to still get outdoors in the cold winter months. Volunteers interested can attend the MEVO hiking trip at the Ramapo Valley County Reservation (a.k.a “The Res”) on Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) in Mahwah, NJ. If you’re looking for some tough trails and truly beautiful vistas, MEVO hikes are the place to be! This hike will meet in the parking lot at 11 AM. Bring water, some extra food (if you want), and clothing appropriate for the weather and for hiking! We will be finished and back at ground level around 2 PM. For questions, you can email Alex at azhang@mevoearth.org or call 917-456-2826. To RSVP for either of these events, simply send an email to mevovolunteers@mevoearth.org with your name, age, phone number, and the subject line “MEVO Hike of the Month” or call 917-456-2826. You can also RSVP through our Facebook.
