March 29: Illegal Dump Site Identification
When: March 29, 2014 10:00am – 3:00pm
Where: 189 Stag Hill Road, Mahwah NJ 07430
Why: There is a lot of illegal trash dumped on Stag Hill and this April MEVO will be removing A LOT of it! Come help MEVO prepare for these clean-ups by identifying and photographing illegal dump sites throughout the mountain. This will be a lot of hiking and exploring the forests and community of Stag Hill.
Bring: Clothes you can get dirty, water, lunch, and a camera

March 10: Local Actions for Global Solutions
What: A panel discussion on the impact of local farms and the creation of a sustainable food system.
Where: “Trustees Pavilion” Building – Ramapo College (505 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah, NJ)
When: Monday, March 10th from 7 – 9 PM
Who: Eric J. Fuchs-Stengel, Founder and Executive Director of MEVO, NYU Gallatin Class of 2014, 2013 New Jersey Environmentalist of the Year; Carolyn Dimitri, Associate Professor of Food Studies New York University; and Jack Daly, Professor of Environmental Studies at Ramapo College and Farmer.
Why: To discuss and celebrate the creation of the Bergen Country Education Farm at Saddle River County Park in Fairlawn, New Jersey.

What: Garbage, from previous MEVO clean-ups, is still piled along the sides of the trails. We are going to move that garbage into a truck to be properly disposed.
Where: We will MEET at Ramapo Reservation (Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah, NJ) and then COMMUTE to Stag Hill.
When: March 1st @ 10:00am (Be prepared to work for 3-4 hours)
Why: Illegal dumping of tires and trash has been occurring at this site for years. The detrimental pollution will inevitably impact our community.
Bring: Boots, thick clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, a snack and water!

What: A relaxing yet active hike at Mahwah’s one and only Ramapo Reservation!
Where: Ramapo Reservation (610 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah, NJ)
When: Saturday, January 18th @ 10:30am (Be prepared to hike for approximately 2 hours)
Why: To appreciate and enjoy the well-maintained public parks space that Mahwah takes great pride in!
