Stag Hill Community Restoration Effort

When: Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 10:00am

Where: Stag Hill Road, Mahwah NJ

Stag Hill is in dire need of some hard working MEVO volunteers. Come on down for this huge 100+ person event so that we can rid this region of Mahwah of unsightly and unhealthy refuse from a heavily polluted area. Our partners for this effort include Macabbi Games, Mahwah Department of Public Works, Ramapo Lenape Nations, and Mayor Bill LaForet. Don’t forget to bring water, lunch, gloves, and clothes you can get dirty. Please help us give back to our community and the environment!

Mike Dalessio- Volunteer du Jour

Guys, this fellow right here is Mike Dalessio and he is what we classify as a stand-up human being! Why is that? Because not only has he been a dedicated MEVO volunteer since 2008, but this Sunday he devoted his entire day to help us move dirt to our new Pony Power Therapies farm. Without his help we would have needed to rent a truck, so he saved us a lot of time and money! Thanks a lot Mike!!

Pony Power Summer Camp- Gardening Session

After three days of intense work, the farm at Pony Powers was completed! Just in time to start our first week of camp, which was a major success, thanks to some really enthusiastic kids. We here at MEVO are excited to keep working and farming with the camp throughout the rest of the summer!

Darlington Schoolhouse Restoration

This past weekend 18 fearsome volunteers did great work at the Darlington School House, eliminating overgrowth and invasive species without a drop of fossil fuel OR pesticides. Awesome work from everyone! We couldn’t do it without our great volunteers

Farming for the Ponies

What’s on the agenda this week for MEVO? Starting up another garden at Pony Powers! We will be working with children, teaching them about farming while getting our hands dirty. What could be better?!

Mahwah Town Center Clean-up

This past Saturday (June 16th) MEVO and a bunch of awesome volunteers worked to clean up the center of Mahwah. These three lads even carried out an old rusty wheelbarrow. All in a day’s work.

Come help us at our next clean-up this Saturday at Stag Hill!
