The MEVO interns are all geared out as they prepare for a two-mile hike across the Vermont wilderness, as part of the annual MEVO field trip to Merck Forest in Vermont. We are proud to have Merck serve as our partners in sustainable agriculture.

What’s going on with MEVO?
The Impact of Off-Roading
Observe the power of erosion created by illegal off-roading. A lot of stagnant water comes to sit in the empty ground, and a lot of mosquitos follow with it.
Come to the Ramapough Lunaape Meet and Greet
Chief Perry addresses the MEVO interns and teaches them about the history of the Ramapough Lunaape people in Northern New Jersey. Come by our meet and greet BBQ on July 15th, at 11:00 am at 95 Halifax Road, Mahwah, NJ, to meet Chief Perry and other members of the Ramapough Lunaape.
A Thank You to Scott’s
This beautiful bee meadow in front of our farm is made possible by the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation GRO1000 Grassroots Grant, which enabled us to plant the flowers to attract bees and other pollinators, as well as purchase bee equipment for our hives. Thank you Scotts Miracle-Gro!
A Kale Harvest!
Farm Manager Isabel Arrieche, and two of our MEVO interns, Domenica LaRocco and Rebecca Freudenberg, harvest sustainably grown kale to be sold at the Glen Rock Farmer’s Market. You can find our kale, and other goodies, at the Market on Sundays from 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
Thank You, Mahwah DPW!
Thank you Mahwah DPW for helping us at our Out of the Woods Trash Clean-Up this weekend. Without you, and your amazing claw machine, we couldn’t have removed as much trash as we did.
The Bees Are Eager
The bees are eager to come our in Summer 2017 and feast on some fresh flower pollen. Our dedicated MEVO beekeepers are making sure that our hives will continue to have enough room for all the bees that are growing inside.
Come and Build Compost Cages
Two MEVO Volunteers can be seen building a compost cage at our two-acre Fresh Roots Educational Farm, during one of our Sunday volunteer days. We’ll be having another volunteer day this Sunday, from 10:00 am -4:00 pm and we would love for you to come on by.
Join Us at Stag Hill!
MEVO volunteers stand proud over the trash they collected at Stag Hill. We’ll be heading back this weekend for another clean-up and we would be glad for you to join us.

Thank You Isabel!
What were you doing last night until 3am? Sleeping? Well not here at MEVO. Farm Manager Isabel Arrieche worked a 20 HOUR DAY getting ready for our CSA pick up today. Starting the morning teaching over 250 children at Meadow Brooke Elementary School with our awesome Farm Crew and ending the day building our mobile trailer refrigerator powered by an air conditioner and a #storeitcold @storeitcold. She truly embodies the crush it work ethic you need to make environmental sustainability and ecological agriculture a powerful movement in our region. Thanks for everything Isabel! #mevo #sustainable #farm#girlfarmer #volunteer #work #csa
