Hello everyone! My name is Isabel Arrieche and I am majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Food Studies at Ramapo College. This coming fall I am looking forward to beginning my last year at school and living in the Sustainable Living Facility on campus as well as taking on the position of Co-President of 1STEP (Students Together for Environmental Progress). I am deeply interested in preparing food and growing food as a source of physical and spiritual healing for individuals, communities, and the land. The medicinal value of plants, minerals, and experiences never ceases to amaze me and I plan on channeling this energy into becoming trained in traditional forms of medicine, such as Ayurveda. Another part of my life’s work is to ensure that under-served communities have access to fresh, organic produce. I am grateful to my family, to my professors, and for my study abroad experience in India for revealing my passions so I could begin my journey of servicing humanity. I thank MEVO for making me a part of the Farm Crew and I am looking forward to getting dirty! Let’s grow some veggies!
