May 25: Trail Construction

In March, MEVO volunteers cleared out the Emerson trail of garbage. Now it’s time to begin carving out this trail. We will be moving and cutting out logs and placing water barks to stop erosion. The trail is already evident, but it needs some work to be easier to walk on and become more appealing to the eye. For instance, there is a rusty fence that may need to be cut. This work will definitely payoff when Emerson has a redefined nature trail for the townspeople to walk through. We will be meeting at the Ramapo Reservation at 10:00 AM and will probably be working until 2:30 PM. We definitely advise you to bring water and some clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. For questions, you can email David at davidjaychoi@mevoearth.org or call 201- 916-4530. To RSVP for any of these events, simply send an email to mevovolunteers@mevoearth.org with your name, age, phone number and the subject line “Emerson Trail Work.” You can also RSVP through our Facebook.
